How does anatomical waste impact on the wellbeing of incinerator workers? My new article in the Conversation foregrounds a rarely discussed interface between biomedicine and waste management. It also points to a broader range of hidden infrastructures our healthcare and lifestyles depend on.
The article should not discourage people from donating their bodies – which is incredibly noble and societally beneficial. Rather, I try to acknowledge the usually invisible labour and technologies that enable scientific advancement.
