Estate on reclaimed ocean land

Much of Lekki  is an artificial landscape, sand-filled swamps and reclaimed areas of the Lagoon. However some of the developers are brave to extend Lagos into the ocean. Yesterday I visited an estate constructed on reclaimed ocean land, an area earlier envisaged as a potential site for the project.

70 m wide strip of new land is being created whilst numerous processes of sea defence, top soil removal and sand movement around the site are being undertaken.
