Conceptual prototype

Participants are invited to make a prototype that provides an imaginative close-up response to your project and embodies the material cultures identified within its context. Irrespective of knowing what the overall project is and is made of, participants zooming into a specific element. Rather than trying to model the size of a real building element, the participants are invited to centre the process around the prototype size that is comfortable and meaningful to work with. The main aim is to use the prototype as a thinking tool that assists an attendee in developing their design through working intuitively and trying things out. It is encouraged not to think of the prototype as a perfect or finalised model. The exercise is more suitable for late project stages but can also useful as an early stage exploration vehicle.
