Research Methods Exhibition Opening

During the autumn semester 2024 I worked as a teaching assistant on the Architecture and Ethnography class with Trude Renwick. The class formed part of the wider range of research methods courses given to an entire cohort of Masters students. As part of the course I designed and delivered a lecture / workshop on ethnographic drawings.

As well as teaching our group of students, Trude and I curated the exhibition where ours and all other cohort’s work was displayed. This involved measuring the exhibition space, enquiring about the requirements of each instructor / group, designing the exhibition poster and running the exhibition opening ceremony on 17 January 2025. The main challenge was to accommodate all the exciting work within the limited space.

In curating the exhibition it was important to account for each group’s requirements, such as screens or table space for models
posters produced by the groups in our Architecture & Ethnography class
Wall produced by another group of students
The exhibition was hosted at the Manchester Technology Centre, which also facilitates the Architecture School
