Similarly to last year I worked with Lower Sixth Form fine art pupils in a workshop dedicated to conceptualising non-physical ideas through models. Process driven, the exercise encouraged the participants to think through making, work intuitively and avoid excessive planning.
The explored themes included:
- Experience of skiing
- Dancing with a dog
- Contrast between a chaotic football practice and a proper game
- Conversation with a parent whilst taking a walk
- An introverted person’s garden
- A dining table with a group of environmental justice protesters
- System of mini cottages at a resort
- Conversations with teddy bears on a lawn
- Playing rounders

At the end of the workshop, the students assembled the maquettes and shared their learnings.
