In this workshop I worked with Manchester Architecture school’s 1st year in creating an exploded prototype of a building corner. As usual, a solid support frame and thredded rods came in handy for imaginatively exploring the layering of building skins. Materials used for the prototypes primarily came from B15 workshop offcuts.

Feedback received from a student after the workshop:
‘Thank you for organising the workshop today, I really enjoyed using model making as a way of learning. I feel a lot more confident about going to B.15 now. I chatted to the team who works there and Mark today and I realised that it is okay to go to B.15 to work through ideas rather than just to make a final model. So, I will be implementing this knowledge next semester when we come back after the summer.’
