Whilst visiting SEK University in Quito, Ecuador, in 2018, I ran a model-making workshop with a group of 17 UISEK students. The aim was to make an object that would tell a message: a concept, a process or a reaction to site. We worked over 3 hours , using all possible materials from watered-down mud to Ecuador’s former currency coins.
The results varied greatly in terms of focus and size, although generally oriented towards arts/theatre proposals, circulation/activity analysis and strong physical divisions in the study area of Parque Ejido.
