Today I went to see a large site suggested by Dr Jerry from Unilag. The site is one of the more vulnerable erosion-prone coastline locations (partly due to Eko Atlantic) and there is currently an estate being planned there. Large quantities of sand are being moved around the site when I visited.
Below: the road to site is in very poor condition but of a very generous breadth, perhaps widened recently in order to allow for the new development (and deteriorated due to heavy trucks passing frequently)
Below: the areas adjacent to the proposed estate site have recently been cleared off an informal settlement.
Below: the site itself is a large expands of land constantly moved around by machines
