Yesterday I also made some progress with the site background research. Mr Ogunlawe, the head of Lagos planning, introduced me to the current progress with Lekki masterplan zones. Although the scale this department operates at is too large to discuss any features of particular project sites, it became clear that the non-residential zones of the masterplan, that I was considering for my own task, have not yet began to be implemented due to ongoing low period for the Nigerian economy. This means that if I do chose one of such areas, I would not have many real physical constraints to address when designing.
The Land registry department only agreed to speak to me once I provide them with an information request letter, which I wrote, handed in and left until further notice from the secretary.

My worksesk for writing a letter in the ministry coridor.

Alausa government area is a large walled territory in Ikeja with a series of green courtyards, busy roads and active internal and external passages populated by people of all ages and professions. I have not previously seen so much mingling of children, domestic workers and informally dressed people at an official government building or area.
