University of Lagos

My friend, a UniLag student took me to the large campus built in Yaba in the 60s-70s. Apart from a range of educational and administrative buildings the campus has its own water treatment, power production (making electricity reliable here) , a bottled water factory and many other facilities.

Amongst other buildings I visited the architecture faculty where I talked to 4th year undergraduate students about their projects and graduate programmes in the UK.

Science classrooms

Covered elevated passages above swampy area

Engineering workshops – similar roof structure to those at KNUST, Kumasi

Architecture studios (note ‘sleeping’ desks to the right)
